The second Steering Committee took place on the 25th – 26th May 2020. Due to the COVID-19 emergency, the meeting was held online and hosted on the GoToWebinar platform.
AREA Science Park, as the Lead Partner of INCIRCLE made a special reference to the COVID-19 situation and its impacts on the project. A brainstorming process followed with all Project Partners (PPs) contributing on whether and how INCIRCLE could support the tourism sector in partner territories.
The meeting continued with presentations by the project partners (PPs) focusing on the progress made regarding their activities, since the last Steering Committee in January. Specifically, CIVINET CY-EL gave its insight regarding the on-going and future communication and dissemination activities. AREA Science Park presented the work that has been made on the INCIRCLE Knowledge Platform and on the Operational Model - the document, which will be used as a point of reference for the development of the regional strategies on Circular Tourism. A detailed presentation was made by the SSSA about the Set of Indicators - the management and monitoring tool - which will be developed on the framework of INCIRCLE in order to assess tourism impact on a destination from a CE perspective. Last but not least, representatives from the 5 Cities (Himara, Gozo, Larnaca, Palma, Rethymno) who act as local demonstrators for the Project, presented their elaborated plans on their testing activities.
The Steering Committee ended with a short introduction about the Upcoming Capacity Building Seminar which will be organized in July for the PPs.
