When & Where

INCIRCLE is a three year project. It had its official start in November 2019 and will proceed with activities for a period of 32 months, till end June 2022.

INCIRCLE brings together partners from six different countries within the Mediterranean area in order to co-operate to reduce tourist-based pollution, to avoid natural resources depletion in these areas and to promote economic and social prosperity.

The project focuses on and addresses low density MED islands or coastal tourist destinations that are negatively impacted by seasonal flows of tourists. Specifically, the Testing Phase of  the project will take place in five demonstrator cities (Palma, Gozo, Himara, Rethymno, Larnaca) which wish to move towards a more Circular Tourism Model.

During the Transfering and Capitalising Phases, knowledge accumulated will be further disseminated and new MED regions will get on-board, making Circular Tourism in MED area to happen.
